Friday Fish: Hypostomus plecostomus

Commonly known among aquarists as a plecostomus or plecostomus catfish, this is (I think) a species I had as a pet long ago. These things are massively resilient - almost impossible to kill through neglect, in my experience. Which makes them a good pet for someone like me.

This picture was stolen from http://www.aquahobby.com/gallery/e_pleco2.php, which also includes some notes on care and feeding.

My brother has an albino suckermouth catfish that looks pretty close to that. Big sucker.

I believe he told me that he got it so cheap, they fired the cashier, and offered to buy it back.
