This is just a quick post to let my sparse readers know that I'm still alive and still planning to post lots of lovely stuff here when I can. My first committee meeting for my PhD is next week; under U of Guelph rules, the main purpose of this meeting is for my committee (three professors) to either accept or reject my PhD proposal, a document I'm currently writing.
Anyway, deadlines are looming and I have been reminded that this meeting is not a formality or triviality, so I've been concentrating on writing this proposal to the exclusion of blog-writing. Sorry about that, I'll find time to put up some real stuff (pictures, rants, fishes) here when things calm down around here a little.
In the meantime, here's a small, low-res picture of the tundra buggy we took out on a tour around Churchill while I was there.

Cool, you are still alive.
I'm dedicating this beer [gulp] to your excellent proposal.
I was worried those Panda bears you were talking about had made a meal of you...
Glad you're still alive. Sorry you have to do work. Work sucks.
Cool pic. Your life looks more interesting than mine ;-)
Oh man, my comprehensive proposal was the worst 8 weeks of my life... I tried to chronicle it on my blog despite having no time to do updates.
It's like when I was writing my M.Sc. thesis; I unplugged my PS2. Had to be done. Well, good luck, weekend after we'll be having some ethanol assisted fun!

What would have happened had you
a) concentrated those 8 weeks down into 3 and
b) not seen Julie for 5 months, and had her visit for 2 of those 3 weeks?
Yeah, that's approximately where I am. Perhaps I should be more stressed out than I am. Perhaps the other proposal I'll write in November will be where I hit those stress levels.
That tundra buggy is begging to be Mad Maxed... BC Front, HD Tires, SD Rear, TWL Vulcan?
Guess who?
...Good I'm sick of you frolicking with teddy bears...now do some real work.
Actually, although what you say about bear behaviour is true, I was told that black bears behave less predicatbly and are hence more dangerous than grizzlies (though not more dangerous than polar bears).
I could be wrong...but that's always the worst part about camping...darned bears.
I hope that comment from Anonymous was Dave... if you have even more Car Wars friends I'll be worried.
I think I know who the anonymous person here is... and its not Dave.
Be worried if you like, but I do have multiple CarWars-playing friends. How else is one supposed to fill Hammer Downs on a weeknight?
Damn, it's been way too long since I've wasticated a mid-size in a Div 20 shootout.

See Carlo's post about nerddom.
