The lake trout, the third of my delayed-series about popular "sport" fish of Ontario. This species is one of the larger in its genus, and the record catch in North America weighed about 46 Kg. I thought of this species because of a hardware store near my grandparents' cottage NE of Toronto; this store had local fish catches (of unusual size) mounted high up on one wall; a lake trout was the largest fish on the wall, weighing something like 30 pounds when it was caught.
