Friday Fish (Delayed): Pterois antennata
Here we return to a picture taken by Lucy Harrison during her fieldwork in Saipan and neighbouring islands. This is the spotfin Lion fish, a reef-dweller distributed throughout the Indo-Pacific, according the available information. There are venom glands at the bases of the fin rays of the dorsal fin, which contain venom nasty enough to be dangerous to humans.
