These two countries are actually separate and independent, and they don't even share a border. People in these countries don't speak the same language. The politics of the two countries are quite different - both are democracies, but with many important legal and practical differences.

Do you commonly confuse Canada with California? Both also start with the same two letters - and share many other similarities (language, etc) besides. Oh, you also forgot Swaziland... I always get all three of them confused. It's the Swedes that speak Swahili right?
Most people aren't even aware that Swaziland exists.
But, Swaziland will be featured here when / if I do my post about "Great Wacky Dictators of the Modern World".
Turkmenistan (NB: not the same country as Turkey) has the number 1, but North Korea, Swaziland and a bunch of others will also be in there. Two words: Rotating Statue
